Research interests
Health services research examines how people get access to health care, how much care costs, and what happens to patients as a result of this care.
Digital health
Digital health, also known as health informatics, is about how we use information systems and technologies to improve the delivery and use of healthcare services to improve health outcomes.
Health economics
We conduct an economic evaluation of health interventions.
Health leadership and health management
We research healthcare leadership at system, organisation and team levels; leader and leadership development; human resource management; health care team and organisational cultures, including interprofessional teams.
Health policy
Health policy concerns the things that governments do (and don’t do) to improve the health of the population. Health policy research covers a broad range of issues, including ‘downstream’ health care services and ‘upstream’ determinants of health such as food environments, housing, alcohol and gambling. Health policy research explores policy decision-making processes and their implementation.
Healthcare ethics
Healthcare ethics research explores questions about fairness, rights and responsibilities, values and obligations in specific contexts. It can form a component of a larger programme of investigation or proceed independently.
Healthcare quality
Our research seeks to understand the quality of healthcare people receive by examining factors like safety, effectiveness, patient-centeredness, timeliness, efficiency, and equity.
