About Optometry
Find out about undergraduate study at the School of Optometry and Vision Science.
Bachelor of Optometry (BOptom)
The School of Optometry and Vision Science’s main offering is the five-year Bachelor of Optometry, the degree which leads to registration in the profession.
We typically take 50-60 students each year, which allows staff and students to work in a collaborative and supportive way in accordance with the principles of whakawhanaungatanga.
By graduating with a BOptom you will be well-prepared with the knowledge, experience and skills required to enter practice or to continue with graduate or other studies.
We have highly respected academic staff, some who are clinically qualified, others who are renowned vision scientists.
