“I want to acknowledge the faculty and everybody involved in making this a reality for all of us navigators who do this work. It's so reassuring to actually have the opportunity to sit in a classroom and know that what you're doing is valued by an institution or by amazing people who believe in the work that we do.

Often navigators in the community are critiqued and have a number of things said about their practise and their work. It's amazing that we finally have a micro-credential that truly honours the work that navigators do.

“I want to acknowledge the teaching team who provided us the space to be able to speak openly, to talanoa, to banter, to dig at one another and to be competitive with each other, because those are aspects of who we are as Pasifika people. Those are the things that we take with us into spaces like classrooms to make it fun.”
