Build the foundation to become a Registered Medical Imaging Technologist
Get ready for a patient-centred career
If you are passionate about helping people, love problem-solving and working as part of a team, studying towards a career as a Medical Imaging Technologist (MIT) could be perfect for you.
Our Bachelor of Medical Imaging (Honours) is New Zealand's only honours degree in medical imaging and will prepare you to work in a rewarding role where you can contribute to patient diagnosis and help treat different medical conditions.
MITs play an important role in healthcare teams, performing x-rays and other imaging examinations that support patient diagnosis. Throughout your degree, you’ll get hands-on clinical experience working with cutting-edge imaging equipment in simulation labs, hospitals and outpatient radiology facilities, all while learning how to take great care of patients. You will also learn about high-level image evaluation and computed tomography as well as develop research skills. Plus you’ll boost your clinical know-how with awesome interpersonal skills like communication and teamwork.
The thought of genuinely making a difference in someone’s life when they need it the most really helped me face obstacles and make the sacrifices anyone in healthcare would need to make.
