About us
Pacific Heath Wayfinders is a recruitment initiative with a focus on guiding Pacific secondary school students to chart a successful career pathway in Health.
Pacific Health Wayfinders has a two-pronged approach to ensure recruitment of Pacific secondary school students in a career pathway in health and medical sciences.
Pilot Schools programme for years 9-12
The Pacific Health Wayfinders team visits secondary schools across the North Island and present to students who may be interested in a career in health. These presentations are student-centred and focus on academic pathways to a career in health.
For years 10-12, these year levels have a designated activity with the purpose of promoting a career in health where students will be invited to register for these activities if they are interested.
Year 13 Programme – Our Season for Change
The delivery of our year 13 programme through an onsite expo of the different schools within the faculty and a 2-day event event on campus, focuses on preparing students for university and ensuring students interested in pursuing a career in health at the University of Auckland are guided and able to make an informed decision on their desired career pathway based on their subject choice and academic capability.
