Our research strengths
Determinants of a healthy life
We look at the role of our genes and our environment to understand why and how diseases develop, including a groundbreaking newborn genomics programme.
Healthy mothers, healthy babies
We undertake clinical trials with pregnant women and their newborns to determinate treatment and interventions to improve children’s growth and development.
Nutrition for lifelong health
We look at how nutrition affects long-term health and our response to disease in different ways.
Research to reality
Our ability to translate research findings into changes in clinical practice dramatically impacts health and wellbeing.
Supporting your research
Three university-wide research platforms, or services, are hosted by the Liggins Institute. These services are available to anyone collaborating with the University of Auckland, and other researchers working in these areas.
