Scholarships for the first year of undergraduate study in the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences

Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences Alumni Award

An Award of up to $1,000 to provide financial assistance to international and domestic undergraduate students in the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences.

Geoff Ricketts Heartland Bank Scholarship

Scholarships of up to $10,000pa for up to three years for New Zealand Citizens or Permanent Residents enrolling in the first year of an undergraduate degree in the faculties of Business and Economics, Law or Medical and Health Sciences.  

Kool Family Nursing Award

A $1,500 Award to support an undergraduate Nursing student of Pacific descent who is a citizen or permanent resident of New Zealand, and who is experiencing financial hardship.

Robyn Dixon Nursing Award

An Award of up to $2,000 to support a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident who attended secondary school in West Auckland, and who is enrolled full-time in a Bachelor of Nursing.

External scholarships and awards

Jacob Beck Jaffurs Medical Scholarships

These Scholarships are open to medical students who wish to pursue elective training or experiences which broaden and enrich their academic classes. RAPHS Medical and Nursing Undergraduate Scholarships

The RAPHS Scholarship was established in 2008 with funds donated by Rotorua Area Primary Health Services Ltd to the Health Rotorua Charitable Trust.

Each year, two RAPHS Undergraduate Scholarships are offered to Rotorua residents in their first year of medical or nursing training, with the intent of supporting the training and retention of local medical practitioners.

  • One scholarship is available to a student who has been accepted into the first year of a nursing degree
  • One scholarship is available to a student who has successfully completed their first year of study at the University of Auckland or University of Otago, and has been accepted into the first professional year of the medical degree programme.
