Cell and organ testing
We are using in vitro experiments and medical imaging to measure how the lungs change after vaping.
In this aspect of our work we are looking at two different scales of biology to study the impact of vaping on the lungs. These are:
- In vitro cell experiments
- Using MRI to measure lung function changes In vitro experiments
In vitro experiments
We will expose lung cells to e-cigarette aerosol to study how they are affected.
MRI measurements
We have used functional MRI to measure how regional lung function changes immediately after vaping. We are still analysing these results.
