“Our department's main goal is to provide quality policy advice to governing bodies, committees, and local boards. This policy advice shapes and informs Auckland Council's investments in various community services, provisions, and broader social outcomes.
“I was always interested in social issues such as crime, housing, homelessness, and unemployment, and I chose to study Arts because problem-solving is my passion. The BA (Hons) in Criminology and Master of Public Policy helped me think through problems and develop and flesh out my ideas logically and rationally.
“My tutors supported my development throughout my studies, and student support services were excellent. There was an outstanding student network so we could stay engaged and connected; I met various people from different backgrounds, which helped me relate better to diverse audiences.
