Scholarships for Māori and Pacific students
We have a range of scholarships for Māori and Pacific students in the Faculty of Arts.
The University of Auckland Rongo Manusina Scholarship
The Rongo Manusina Scholarship is worth $5,000 for Māori and Pacific students enrolling or enrolled full-time in the first year of a Bachelor of Communication or a BC conjoint degree.
The University of Auckland Pacific Academic Excellence Scholarships
These scholarships recognise and reward exceptional academic performance combined with outstanding sporting, artistic, cultural and/or leadership achievements among Pacific students.
The scholarships fully fund a guaranteed place in our catered accommodation for the first year of your degree, and lump sum payments in your second and third years.
The University of Auckland Māori Academic Excellence Scholarships
These scholarships recognise and reward exceptional academic performance combined with outstanding sporting, artistic, cultural and/or leadership achievements among Māori students.

Te Wānanga o Waipapa Honours and Masters Scholarship for Māori and Pacific Students
This scholarship is for Māori and Pacific students to undertake an honours or masters programme at Te Wānanga o Waipapa.
Māori and Pasifika Master of Public Policy Award
This award is designed to help support Māori and Pacific students enrolled full-time or part-time in a Master of Public policy degree.
Professor Michael Walker Scholarship for Māori and Pacific Students
These scholarships are available to Māori and Pacific students in their final year of undergraduate study who have participated in the Tuākana programme.
Michael Synnott Scholarship
This scholarship is available to students of Māori or Pacific descent who live in South Auckland who intend to enrol in their first degree.
University of Auckland Māori Postgraduate Scholarships
When you apply for a place at the University, you’ll automatically be considered for a University of Auckland Māori Postgraduate Scholarship - you don’t need to apply separately.
University of Auckland Pacific Postgraduate Scholarships
When you apply for a place at the University, you’ll automatically be considered for a University of Auckland Pacific Postgraduate Scholarship - you don’t need to apply separately.
