This online study option is ideal if you are looking to qualify as a teacher but need flexibility.

You will have access to the programme materials online so you can study at times that suit you and your lecturers will be able to support you throughout your studies.

The Online Graduate Diploma in Teaching is approved by the Aotearoa New Zealand Teaching Council. Upon graduation you will become a qualified Early Childhood Education, Primary or Secondary Teacher.

You can apply for the Online Graduate Diploma in Teaching from anywhere in New Zealand. We will work with schools in your region to support your practicum placement needs which form an important part of your study programme.

If you are considering studying to become a Secondary teacher, check out our Teacher Education in Schools Programme. With multiple scholarships available, the programme offers students the opportunity to spend 3 days a week in a host school experiencing day-to-day school life while completing their Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Secondary) online.

Students participating in the Teacher Education in Schools Programme will receive a scholarship covering all course fees and a $12,500 stipend paid in instalments throughout the year.
