About us
Our mission
We work collaboratively with our clinicians, academics and biomedical scientists to produce cutting-edge research, while supporting and mentoring emerging researchers.
We undertake evidence-based teaching, and inspire lifelong learning amongst students and health professionals.
We support wāhine and whānau in the community to be healthy, and provide national and international leadership and advocacy.
Our history
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology has evolved from the Postgraduate School in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, which was established in 1951 - nearly 20 years before undergraduate medical teaching began in at the University of Auckland.
