Clinical psychology and mental health
Clinical psychology covers a broad area of research, focussing on psychological health in individuals, families, groups, organisations and communities.
Broadly, clinical psychology centres on mental health and we perform a range of activities in this area. Our work covers areas of professional practice, research, teaching and supervision, programme development and evaluation, consultation, public policy and other areas of psychological health.
We also recognise the need to adapt existing research knowledge to the particular requirements of any client or client group and the distinctive Aotearoa/New Zealand context.
Our research includes areas such as mental health in adults, children and adolescents, clinical neuropsychology, family psychology (including divorce and stepfamilies), psychotherapy and trauma.
