Organisation Studies
Organisation Studies (OS) is an interdisciplinary academic discipline focused on understanding the structures, processes, and behaviours within organizations. Our group is particularly interested in organising, leading and governing for the Anthropocene. We study and teach topics such as organizational culture, ethics and sustainability, leadership and governance, worker and manager learning, gender and identity, alternative organizing, employment relations, and power and politics at work.
Our research explores how to craft and sustain shared interests of ecological and social sustainability. Drawing from Māori and Pasifika knowledges, sociology, anthropology, political science, and cultural studies, researchers in our group encourage a reflective and ethical approach to understanding organizations, aiming not just to describe but to create more democratic, equitable and flourishing working lives, organisations and economies.
