Beta Gamma Sigma is the international honour society recognising the top students at business schools worldwide and is attached to the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

Our top business graduates and doctoral graduands who accepted membership to Beta Gamma Sigma this year were inducted into the international honour society at a special event held at the Business School on Monday 6 May.

Academic staff serving in senior leadership roles within the faculty were also inducted, as well as independent director Jonathan Mason, who we were delighted to recognise as this year’s Beta Gamma Sigma Chapter Honoree – an award which recognises leaders in business who have made significant contributions to the Business School, the University and the business community as a whole.

We were also thrilled to have Beta Gamma Sigma alumna and New Zealand shoe designer Nicole Rebstock (BCom/LLB, 2016) as our keynote speaker for the evening. Nicole's story is an inspiration for many: she bravely stepped away from a traditional career in the corporate and legal world to become a designer and entrepreneur.

The President of the New Zealand Alumni Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma, Alex Waddell, spoke about the benefits of joining the society, and unveiled a special artwork donated to the alumni chapter by architecture alumna and artist Roberta Queiroga.

It was a very special evening at which our graduands were joined by friends and family to recognise their outstanding academic achievement.
