We are delighted to announce that our MBA programme has been awarded a five-year re-accreditation by the Association of MBAs (AMBA). This continues our longstanding recognition by AMBA and reinforces our position as a provider of world-class MBA education.

The Peer Review Panel's assessment was highly positive, recognising several areas of excellence in our programme delivery and outcomes.

Key highlights include:

1. Programme Leadership:

The review team commended our committed and inclusive leadership team, highlighting their dedication to the MBA's success and their focus on students' pastoral and academic well-being.

2. Academic Quality:

The panel expressed full confidence in our masters-level academic standards, commending the quality of student work and teaching materials. They noted how these high standards will be maintained in the programme's new online format.

3. Strategic Programme Development:

The transition to online delivery was recognised as strategically sound, with the panel commending our thorough design and consultation processes, including valuable input from our advisory board and other key stakeholders.

4. Programme Innovation:

The programme combines faculty-led asynchronous content, which students can access conveniently, with carefully integrated in-person elements. These include a two-day cultural and learning experience at the University Marae for Te Ao Māori Business, a two-day negotiations and communication skills workshop, a two-day campus-based refresher focusing on Excel modelling and data analysis skills, and a one-week international capstone project in the final term.

5. Learning Environment:

The review team commended our excellent facilities at the Sir Owen G Glenn Building in Auckland City, which provides a first-class environment for the in person components of our programme.

6. Student Quality and Alumni Engagement:

The panel highlighted how the School attracts outstanding students with substantial work experience, noting how this aligns with our goal of developing transformative leaders for New Zealand and beyond. Our commitment to lifelong learning was particularly noted, with the innovative "5 in 5 for 50" initiative—offering MBA alumni a 50% discount on five short courses over five years—being recognised as a finalist for 'Best Lifelong Learning Initiative' at the AMBA & BGA Excellence Awards 2024. This complements our robust alumni engagement through the Auckland MBA Alumni (AMBAA) network, and a range of alumni events providing ongoing intellectual stimulation and networking opportunities.

This re-accreditation reflects the collective efforts of our staff, students, alumni and industry partners in maintaining the highest standards of MBA education. It provides a strong foundation for our continued development as we shape the next generation of business leaders.
