The Business School is celebrating the outstanding success of a team of students from the Department of Property, who emerged victorious at the 2024 Cornell PropConnex International Real Estate Case Competition in New York City.
Cornell University and PropConnex held the 2024 Cornell PropConnex International Real Estate Case Competition in New York City on Friday 15 November 2024, hosted by JP Morgan at Ease 605 Hospitality.
Students from top undergraduate real estate programmes around the world, representing 20 universities, presented their investment recommendations of a “real-life” commercial real estate transaction to a panel of senior industry leaders after 5 days of intense preparation.
The team from the University of Auckland Business School showcased their exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, achieving first place in this highly competitive and educationally rewarding event, and winning the $10,000 grand prize. This is the first time a university from New Zealand has won the competition.
Their achievement was made possible with the generous sponsorship of PropConnex, whose support enabled the students to compete on the international stage.
Special thanks also go to the team’s dedicated coaches, Chris Farhi MRICS from Bayleys, Jordan Parratt from Goodman, and Professor Deborah Levy, whose expertise and mentorship were instrumental in the team’s success, alongside Professor Daniel Quan and the team from Cornell University for running the competition.
This victory highlights the talent and determination of our students and underscores the University of Auckland Business School's reputation as a leader in real estate education.
