Mentoring opportunities

Students gain enormous benefit from the experience and industry knowledge of their mentors, gaining insight into the world of work and getting their career off to the best possible start.

Women’s Mentoring Programme

The University of Auckland Business School Women’s Mentoring Programme matches highly motivated and engaged female business students (mentees) with mentors from the Business School’s vast network of women working in business.

Golf Business Mentoring Programme

The Business School and New Zealand Golf deliver a unique five-week programme where students can learn from business mentors while playing golf.  The programme runs every Sunday afternoon from mid-August to mid-September and is held at a centrally located golf course. Being able to play golf has always been an advantage in the business world – making connections, getting time with decision makers and networking.

Some golf experience is required but the only commitment for mentors is one Sunday afternoon playing nine holes of golf with three promising business students. Benefits to mentors include:

  • Encouraging young people to get into golf, which is crucial for the future of golf clubs
  • Meeting some of New Zealand’s most promising business students
  • Gaining insight into the whole person through informal networking
