The University of Auckland Archives tell the story of the University since its foundation in 1883.
The University of Auckland Archives document the history of the University since its foundation in 1883. This includes the institutions that have merged with it such as the Auckland College of Education and Elam School of Art.
The development of the University, what has been taught, and the people and places that have contributed to the life of the University can all be traced through the official records held in the Archives.
Types of records held
Records within the archives include:
- Minutes of meetings of the University Council, Senate and their committees from 1883
- Student registers, and some attendance books
- Correspondence files of the Chancellor and Registrar from 1883
- University Calendars
- Examination papers
